This page explains who is behind The Private Practice, how articles are made, and how we handle mistakes. The site is run by Dr. Tom Biernacki, DPM, FACFAS, a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon in Howell, Michigan (NPI 1821330051; practice profile).
Who writes and reviews the articles
Articles are drafted with the help of AI research and writing tools, under Dr. Tom’s direction. Dr. Tom reviews each article before it is published. Where a topic falls outside foot and ankle medicine, the article is written as general education and says so.
Evidence standards
- We give the most weight to human clinical trials, systematic reviews, and clinical guidelines.
- When the evidence comes only from animal or cell studies, the article should say so plainly.
- Claims should cite the study they come from. We are updating older articles so that every cited study links to its source, such as PubMed or the journal.
- We do not publish personal treatment plans, and we flag supplement–drug interactions where they are known.
Updates and corrections
If you find an error, a broken source, or a claim that the cited study does not support, email info@michiganfootdoctors.com with the page link. We review every report. When a correction changes the meaning of an article, we fix it and note the correction on the page.
Independence
No company pays to appear in our articles or to review them before publication. If a page ever earns a commission from a product link, the page will say so next to the link.
